The Best Mother's Day

Well since I was gone for Mother's Day, I thought that it was going to really bad not being able to be with my kiddos on Mother's Day and kept telling them on the phone that Mother's Day was just a day. We could celebrate Mother's Day any day of the week. When I returned home on Tuesday I was really busy with my May Dinner for the Junior League. So we did Mother's Day on Wednesday. I started by getting the mail and my ring had come which was not a surprise due to ordering it myself. I LOVE it and knew that it was coming. I thought that the ring was it, that I was not getting anything else. I was wrong. Russell had called me to check the back fence to see if the storms had knocked down our fence again. As I opened the blinds, there was writing in shoe polish that said Happy Mother's Day and work in progress. Russell and the kids had cleaned the back porch, put up temporary gate to keep dogs off the porch, rearranged the patio furniture, and purchased new cushions as my Mother's Day gift from the kids. The ring was a gift from my husband to let me know how great of a mom I was to our children. Talk about making me cry....I was so surprised!!! I use to love to sit out on the back porch having my morning coffee but have not been able to for the past year due to having a dog that chewed up the cushions. Thanks you guys for both of my gifts. We had a wonderful day and I am so blessed to be the Mommy of two wonderful children, even more blessed to have a husband that thinks that I am a great mother....when some days I feel like I am a horrible mother due to having two strong-willed children and sometimes not knowing what to do. I LOVE you guys!

Virginia Trip

As many of you know due to talking non stop about it before I left....my sister graduated from Old Dominion University this past Saturday. I flew there without my husband or kids to be with her during this exciting time. I am so very proud of my sister for accomplishing her goals and even more proud of her by going back for her gradate degree and doctorate. She is career military and will someday be an officer in the Air Force. I truly missed my kids expectly Sunday because it was Mother’s Day. I was with my mother on Mother’s Day which was wonderful and we spent the time on Sunday at the beach. It was so nice! I got a nice sunburn base tan. It was a great time and trip to The East Coast being my first time ever to visit there. I would love to go back with my family soon!

Flashback Friday!

Thank you Lord...
for the gift and blessings of my sweet children!
I can't beleive looking back to May 2006 how much my kids have grown and changed. They are the light of my life and such a blessing. These two are good friends when they want to be and for that I am also thankful. Sure, they do have their moments when they argue and fight over things, and I'm sure as they get older these times may come more and more. Russell and I have alway said to them that they will have each other their entires lives and will know each other longer then anyone else....cherish that you will always have one another!
Hope you all have a fabulous weeeknd!

Flashback Friday: In honor of Peyton turning 8

Can you tell that we were new parents? I think that Russell was still shocked with holding his little baby boy by the look on his face. This was taking outside of my parents house, Peyton was just a couple of weeks old. He looked so little but was 9lbs. 11oz. at birth. I still can't believe that he is 8 years old now.

We are off to San Antonio this weekend for Russell's Grandmothers 92nd birthday party, that is going to be more like a family reunion....we are so excited to be with family all weekend long! Have a great weekend!

My Baby Boy is 8!

I can't believe how fast time or life goes by. 8 years ago I was giving birth to a precious baby boy, he would change and bless our lives forever. Russell and I have recently gotten him a cell phone. He is about to start guitar lessons and got a new guitar from his Nana for his birthday. He knows about gun safety as his goes out back and shoots his bb gun, a gift from us from his birthday. He is going to Camp Butman summer camp this year for the first time. I still can't believe that he is old enough to be doing all this things. I do miss him being a baby and a toddler but I am truly looking forward to what is to come with him. He is such a great kid!

Miss Mads Sick!

As we were about to get dressed for her parent/teacher conference at school today, Miss Mads gets sick all over the newly mopped kitchen floor....I will not go into details but it was ugly! This is the kicker, I go get her bed sheets off so that I can start a around the house disinfectant process and guess what I find...she threw up in her bed. That always makes you feel like Mom of the year, how did I miss her throwing up in her bed? Around 4pm I finally got some clothes on her, well she got herself dressed...see the non matching pjs. This stomach has hit our house over and over again. It is poor Madison's 2nd time to have it in a 2 to 3 week period. I fell so bad for her meanwhile I am hoping and praying that it is only a 24 hour thing as Russell and I are going out of town for our first trip (just us) since we have had children. Praying for quick recovery from the bug!!!!

About Me

My photo
I'm a stay at home mommy and really love every minute of it! I love my husband of 10 years. He was my 1st date and high school sweetheart. We have two beautiful children. Peyton is seven and Madison is three. I thank God everyday that He has blessed me with such a wonderful life and family. I stay busy by saying yes to things that sometimes I should said no to and by volunteering. I am a member of the Junior League of Lubbock. This organization does so much good for the community and for developing the potential of women. It's great to be a part of it! I am also active in my church. I have been the nursery committee chair for the past three years. I also teach preschool two days a week. In my spare time I take pictures! Photography is my passion. I love, love, love, love to shop. I get the deals and I like to share them with my friends. If there is anything you should know about me, it's that I love Jesus. Everyday I'm thankful that God sent him to die a death for me that he didn't deserve.
